Tadeusz Lubelski

A graduate of Polish studies at the Jagiellonian University, cinema historian, formerly also a film critic and translator. Retired full professor at the Institute of Audiovisual Arts of the Jagiellonian University; he promoted 22 doctors. He published, among others: Poetics of novels and films by Tadeusz Konwicki (1984), Author’s strategies in Polish feature films of the years 1945-1961 (1992), Kino Krzysztof Kieślowski (ed., 1997), Wajda (2006), Historia niebyła cinema of the Polish People’s Republic ( 2012, Bolesław Michałek “Cinema” Award, nomination for the NIKE Award) , History of Polish Cinema 1895-2014 (2015), New Wave 60 years later. On a certain adventure of French cinema (2017); as a translator of Hitchcock / Truffaut(2005). Editor of the first Polish Cinema Encyclopedia (2003, 2nd ed. 2010). Co-editor (with Iwona Sowińska and Rafał Syska) of the four-volume History of Cinema (2012-2019). Member of the European and Polish Film Academy. Chairman of the Program Council of the Krakow Film Festival. Passionate reader.
