is a film scholar and film historian, curator of film series, lectures and talks on film. As a film programmer, he has many years of experience working with television, film festivals, cinemas and cultural institutions (including the New Theater, the National Film Library – Audiovisual Institute, the European Solidarity Center). From 2008 to 2017, he was a program editor in the film editorial department of TVP Kultura.
In his work as a film selector and programmer, he strives to bring viewers the broadest possible picture of cinematography: from classics and art cinema to genre cinema. The film series he specializes in, while presenting the history of cinema, relate to contemporary socio-political realities.
Tomasz Kolankiewicz is the author of dozens of film reviews, among them: Polish and foreign reviews of women’s cinematography, Swedish and American silent cinema, films of prominent world directors and cinematographers, new wave currents in world cinema, horror cinema, retrospectives of little-known film currents, several retrospectives of Polish genre cinema.
